Choosing Natural Materials: A Design Principle
For me, working with natural materials is not just a preference. It is a fundamental principle that shapes every decision and defines the character of the spaces and objects I create.
Natural materials don’t try to impress. They simply are – sometimes quiet, sometimes striking. But always grounded in truth.
Wood that breathes.
Linen that lightens.
Stone that stays.
They all carry a quality that synthetic materials cannot imitate – a sense of origin, of honesty, of character.
Sometimes they recede into the background.
Sometimes they come forward.
But always, they carry presence – grounded, and true.
They shift with time, but never lose their character.
They anchor a space – not through performance, but through presence.
Beyond style – it’s about choosing.
In what’s real.
In what lasts.
Design, for me, is about the thoughtful use of natural materials — bringing warmth and vitality to a space, while allowing it to breathe and evolve gracefully.
